Johansen Double Secures 3 More Points for Bucks

Charlie Johansen and Simon Revell repaid their manager for a place in this evening’s starting line-up at home to Cadbury Heath with the goals that helped earn in-form Bucks their 13th straight win in all competitions.

With the visitors delayed, the game started ten minutes later than advertised.

Johansen opened the scoring after 27 minutes, directing his header over the goalkeeper, but Cadbury Heath were unfortunate not to equalise when a penalty kick hit the crossbar. They would regret that missed opportunity when Johansen doubled up from close-range with 20 minutes remaining. Simon Revell sealed the win three minutes from time, guiding a superb chip over the visiting ‘keeper for goal number three.

The victory comes hot on the heels of another 2-0 league win, away at Wells last Saturday, where Johansen came off the bench to score after Gavin Hammon, who didn’t start this evening, had put the Yellows one up. It was a physical match, played on a boggy surface, but Hammon’s early goal and a first half sending off for the hosts gave Buckland the impetus they needed to control the second period and seal the win through Johansen.

Buckland are away at Hallen on Saturday before they can turn their attention to the FA Vase quarter-final at Sporting Bromsgrove on Sunday 19th.
