Western League

The Western League was founded way back in 1892 as the Bristol & District League, before being renamed the Western League three years later.

The competition has two Divisions, the Premier and Division One, with Division One sitting at the same level on the Football Pyramid as the South West Peninsula Premier League (both acting as feeders to the Western League Premier Division).

In the Premier Division, for the 2016/17 season, the local area is represented by Buckland Athletic FC, South Devon’s second highest placed football club (the first being Torquay United of course).

We will let you know as soon as we know the kick-off date for the 2016/17 league season. You can view the Yellows’ upcoming fixtures by looking at our BAFC Results/Fixtures menu (under Local Football – Western League), or by clicking on the relevant links to the Toolstation Western League’s official website below:

An archive of weekly league reports will be created in this section  (just in case you need to play catch-up).

If you have any Buckland Athletic/Western League news, reports or pictures, please contact Neil with all the information.

Best wishes to Ellis Laight’s Yellows from all at Sport South Devon as they push for promotion to the Southern League.
