Buckland Athletic 2 v 0 Street FC

Buckland Athletic inflicted Street’s third defeat of this league campaign on Thursday night running out  2-0 winners against this years league champions. A goal direct from a free kick after 7 minutes from Clifford put the home side one up before Afful unleashed a great strike in the 70th minute to give the points to Buckland. The sides will meet again Monday night, this time in the semi finals of the Les Philips Cup.  [/box]

[box] South West Peninsula League East Division:

Brixham AFC 2 v 4 Teignmouth

Newton Abbot Spurs 2 v 1 University of Exeter

In the SW Peninsula East Division on Thursday night Newton Abbot Spurs extended their lead at the top of the league to seven points with a home win against University of Exeter. However the game did not start well for the leaders when after 6 minutes Jamal Bartley struck from the edge of the box. Spurs got back on level terms 9 minutes later when L.Moseley ran through to get the equaliser. The winner came just before the half hour when Newbould found the back of the net through a crowd of players from just inside the box to give Spurs victory and put some pressure on second placed St Martins who play on Friday night.

In the same division Teignmouth travelled across Torbay to visit Brixham AFC. The Teigns registered a 4-2 victory over their hosts after coming from behind twice. Teignmouth’s goals came by way of Sam Chapman, Hayden Roe, Geoff Breslan (pen) and Sean Ayre. [/box]
