SWPL 21st February 2015
A busy day of Top flight league action today as all of the top 12 were in action and eight of the scheduled nine matches were played. The odd one out was Callington Town v Stoke Gabriel which fell victim to the weather and the scheduled odd side out were bottom of the table Bovey Tracey.
Leaders Saltash United maintained their five point lead at the top with a 2-0 win at home to Elburton Villa, new boss Phil Bayliss’ third straight win.
Division One East:
there were just five East games played this afternoon but that didn’t stop action at the very top and bottom of the table. At the Top, leaders Teignmouth were beaten 1-0 away at Appledore with the North Devon side climbing a place to third after the win. St Martins are up into second place after they beat Brixham AFC 2-0 at home in a match involving the two sides who were promoted into the division last Summer. Alphington stay seventh after they came from behind to beat Totnes & Dartington 2-1 at the Chronicles. There was high drama too at the bottom of the table as Axminster Town edged a nine goal thriller to beat Liverton United 5-4, and fended off a fightback as the Tigers had been 5-1 up during the match.
